Company History
King Central was a provider of wholesale central station monitoring services.
King Central began by providing alarm monitoring services to independent alarm dealers concentrated in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania from its Hackensack, N.J. facility. Within five years by pursuing an organic growth strategy, King Central was serving more than 800 Dealers and 30,000 end-user subscribers.
In 1992, M&S Partners was formed to acquire portfolios of alarm monitoring contracts from Dealers and to provide secured lending to those Dealers. This provided another service that could be offered to King Central's existing and prospective Dealers as well as providing an opportunity for investment returns.
In April 1993, the company expanded its geographic reach to independent alarm dealers by opening four local Dealer Care Centers in Florida, Michigan, Georgia and California to support its rapidly growing customer base in the East and Midwest. Within two years, we were serving more than 1,600 Dealers and 90,000 end-users.
King Central extended its organic growth strategy to include selective and strategic acquisitions. In December 1996, King Central acquired the monitoring operations of Western Pacific Monitoring Corp. to respond to a rapidly growing Dealer and end-user subscriber base in western United States. The monitoring facility also gave the company a second call center that offered a platform for developing a fully redundant service capability throughout the United States. By December 1998, King Central was serving approximately 2,500 Dealers and 160,000 end-user subscribers.
In 2007, these operations were combined with the wholesale operations of Protection One to result in the largest wholesale monitoring company in the United States, Criticom Monitoring Service.
