CMS provides its dealers with a simple method of verifying test signals in the field by phone. CMS dealers are provided with a special phone number to call and a "dealer number". When the alarm company personnel or field technician calls a recording asks for a "dealer number", a "passcode" and the customer's account number. (Letters in the account number are entered as numbers - see the chart to the right).

After the alarm panel has transmitted a series of test signals, another call to the VRT computer will provide a playback of the signals received and allow the technician to either end the test or extend it for an additional period.
